Girl Scout Junior
Girl Scout Juniors at ACS Cobham straddle the move to the ACS Middle School so we have had a troop in 4th and 5th grade for the last several years. 4th Graders normally meet on Thursdays with the rest of the LS troops while 5th grade meetings are reserved for Fridays or on weekends to deal with the extra commitments that being a middle schooler entails.
This is also the first time girls can work towards earning their Bronze Award. 4th graders usually concentrate on completing a Journey quickly as this a perequisite for the Bronze. Since 2011 we have had three 5th grade troops earn Bronze each year!
Being a Junior Girl Scout at Cobham is FUN! Not only do the girls work hard on their activities, they make new friends and take on leadership roles. In our community the 5th grade troop traditionally are in charge of the Talent Show. 4th grade often take an overnight trip to the ICANDO centre in London.
Juniors can also earn their Junior Aide award by making and completing a plan to guide Girl Scout Daisies or Brownies to bridge.
